2021 Europe Triathlon Baltic Championships Otepaä

Distances

1st start: 0,375 km swim, 10 km bike, 2,5 km run (youth B, youth A, juniors, amateurs)

2nd start: 0,15 km swim, 4 km bike, 1 km run (children C, D, E)

3rd start: 1,5km swim, 40km bike, 10km run (F/M 20 – 80+, teams)

Registration

Pre-registration is open online on http://www.trismile.ee until 21st June 2021. On-spot registration, re-registration (10€) and issuing of race materials is opened according to the program. 

Course

Start
The start area is located on the beach of Pühajärve lake.

Swim
Swimming is in the Pühajärve lake. Wetsuit is recommended but forbidden if the water temperature on race day 1 hour before the start is 22°C or more. Participants must swim either one 150m loop, one 375m loop or one 1500m loop according to their distance. All participants in the 3rd start must wear a swimming cap provided by the organizers.

Bike
The bike course is around Pühajärve lake mostly on the Poslovitsa-Pühajärve and Otepää-Kääriku-Kurevere road.

Run
The run course is in the Pühajärve lake beach park and on its surrounding roads.

Transition zone
The transition zone is on a football field in Pühajärve.  The competitor has to present their race number to get in the transition zone. Only competitors, referees and organizers are allowed in the area. 

Drafting
Drafting is allowed in the 1st and 2nd starts. Women are allowed to draft behind women and men are allowed to draft behind men. 

The drafting zone is 10m. Referees will control abiding the drafting rules. In the 3rd start the violation of rules will result in a 2-minute penalty which must be carried out in the penalty box on the bike course. The penalty for repeated incorrect drafting is disqualification.

COVID-19 information regarding traveling to Estonia

There is no obligation to do the COVID-19 test or self isolate if a person has had COVID-19 and has been declared recovered by a doctor within six months before arrival, or if a person is fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and the course of vaccinations was finished no more than 12 months earlier.

A 10-day restriction on the freedom of movement applies on entering Estonia from a country in the European Union, European Economic Area and the Schengen area with an infection rate above 150 persons per 100 000 inhabitants in the past 14 days. Anyone who does not wish to self-isolate for 10 days after their arrival in Estonia can take a PCR test abroad no earlier than 72 hours before their arrival in Estonia. While in Estonia, a second test can be taken no earlier than on the sixth day after the first test. The 10-day restrictions on movement period can be concluded earlier if both tests are negative.
