35 years ago, Devonport hosted the first triathlon. There are not many events with such a long history. In 2020 we are ready to welcome athletes from all around the world back in Tasmania. The event has a great atmosphere, tough course at the waterfront and big support of local community. Located on the North West Coast of Tasmania along side the Mersey River and the Bass Strait coast, Devonport enjoys river, ocean and mountain views and is close to some of Tasmania’s best natural places, including stunning Cradle Mountain. 2020 Devonport OTU Sprint Championship & Oceania Cup will run in conjunction with ITU World Paratriathlon Series and Australian Youth/ Junior Championships.

Sprint Course Description:
Swim = 1 Lap x 750m
• Ocean swim with beach start
Bike = 4 Laps x 5km = 20km
• Turn left on to along Bluff Road, U turn at Clements St, head back West on Bluff Road turn right into William St, Left into Coles Beach road, turn left over the railroad left again up a steep hill climb on North Street, U turn at Percy st turning left into Nixon, U turn at James st, return via Nixon onto Coles Beach Road back to Bluff road and repeat.
Run = 2 Laps x 2.5km = 5km
• Head East to along Bluff Road/Victoria Parade, U turn at George Street and return (staying on the road)
