World Triathlon

The European Triathlon Union (ETU) decided to organize in 2015 a “Test Event European Championship Triathlon Champions Clubs ’ in Nice (France).

This first trial, if successful, will see this competition sustain each year from 2016 , in the European club calendar .

17 clubs are engaged :

France : Poissy Triahlon and EC Sartrouville Triathlon and TGC79 Parthenay
Germany : EJOT Team TV Buschhuetten and algemarin Triathlon Team TuS Griesheim
Great Britain : Hoddesdon Tri Club and Arragons Cumbrian Triathlon Club, 
Ireland : GoTri Triathlon Club
Netherlands : Squadra hellas 1 and Squadra Hellas 2
Portugal : Clube Desportivo “Os Águias” de Alpiarça,
Spain : Ecospsort Triatlon Alcobendas ans CT Diablillos de Rivas
Switzerland : Triathlon Team Oensingen

The race is based on a format “relay team “, format that the International Triathlon Union (ITU) proposes to the International Olympic Committee (IOC ) for inclusion of an additional race on the Olympic program.

The team is a mixed team (2 women and 2 men). Format: 300m swim, 6,8km bike, 1,8km run. Competitors compete the race in the order 1 woman, 1 man, 1 woman, 1 man. All of them have to cover the distance before passing the baton to his teammate.
