On November 27, the Organizing Committee of WTCS/WTPS Yokohama donated 1.37 million yen to Yokohama Children's Hospice Project, an authorized non-profit organization based in Yokohama. The donation was collected from 137 Age-Group participants who made their entries under the framework of 'Charity Entries' in the Yokohama Event in May this year.
The contribution will go to 'Umi to Sora no Ouchi (A House of the Sea and the Sky)', a local community care facility for recuperating children and their families.
Ai Ueda, professional triathlete and EB Member of Japan Triathlon Union, attended the presentation ceremony held at the Yokohama City Hall as the Ambassador and presented her original drawings. Ai commented, 'I drew this imagining the children and the family bond at the care facility. 'Bond' is the main concept of the Yokohama Event and I also cherish this word. As a triathlete, I will continue to support their project.'
