From June 18 to 26, the association of French-speaking triathlon countries, Fratri, will set up a free training camp for the future stars of triathlon within the African continent. As an initiative to get some athletes ready to take part in the Paris 2024 Olympics, the countries of the Francophonie are more than eager to find new talents and support them on their road to the Olympic glory.
About twenty athletes born in 2001-2002, selected at the African Championships in Rabat on April 21, will be able to participate in this talent identification camp. They will also have the opportunity to confront the French hopes during the triathlon of Brive. All the selected athletes will be coached without any charge by Swiss and French coaches, while their accommodation will be free of charge for them. Laurent Massias, the French Deputy National Technical Director, will be available for the camp management.
But to get there, from Africa, the trip is long and sometimes very expensive. For many of these young athletes, this can be a real challenge, and that’s where the initiative I believe in you comes. Supported by Swiss Triathlon, the campaign is launching a fundraising campaign to co-finance 16 air tickets for the young African triathletes. A participation of CHF 400.- per ticket for a total amount of CHF 6’400 is what is needed, so all contributions are more than welcome.
Support these young hopefuls and help them finance the trip to their dream!
