Felicity Sheedy-Ryan (AUS) and Aurelien Lebrun (FRA) were victorious on a hot and sunny day in Geneva for the ITU European Cup.
The 25th Edition of this race lived up to its billing as one of the most popular races on the circuit.
For Sheedy-Ryan, this was her second victory in three years on this course and she bettered her winning time from 2011 with a superb race.
The Australian finished ahead of Anne Tabarant (FRA) who was once again runner up after equalling her performance from last year.
Charlotte Morel (FRA) did manager to go one better than her 4th place of last year to win the bronze medal and complete the podium. It was Morel’s first podium since 2010.
In the Men’s race, Aurelien Lebrun secured his first victory of 2013 and the second of his career.
He was pushed all the way by the exciting young British duo of Gordon Benson and Marc Austin.
Benson finished second place to record his first career podium in an Elite category and Junior European Champion Austin’s third place was also his first podium at International Elite level.
