Race update from Hobart

Things are starting to gather momentum here for the race on Sunday 19th February. The race is set to be a cracker and I just wanted to give you a bit of an update on some changes that have been made by the organising committee to make the event bigger and better.

TRANSITION AREA

Please note the following changes to the transition area:

Elites & U23 Opposite Blue Skies restaurant in small carpark (next to swim exit).

Age Group No.1 Shed Princes Wharf (same as last year)

ITU Junior - Opposite Blue Skies restaurant in small carpark (next to swim exit).

RUN COURSE CHANGES

Please note the following changes to the run course from last year:

Elites & U23 5 x 2km laps.

Age Group 4 x 2.5km laps

ITU Junior 2 x 2.5km laps

New run course maps will be on the website shortly.

ENTRY

Reminder that entries close on Friday 10th February @ 5pm.  After this time a late entry fee of an additional $50 will apply until Tuesday 14th February @ 5pm.

We will not be accepting late entries after 14th February.  Please do not turn up to register on the Saturday without entering the event as it is a long way to come to not start! ACCOMMODATION

If you have not done so please get onto booking your accommodation ASAP as rooms (particularly for the Saturday night) are filling very fast!

The race hotel is the Hotel Grand Chancellor and they can be contacted on 1800 75 33 79 and ask for the Hobart Triathlon special rates.

REGISTRATION

Takes place at the Hotel Grand Chancellor on Saturday 18th February between 1pm and 4pm.

BIKE CHECK IN

Bike check-in is compulsory for all age group and teams. It takes place at No. 1 shed Princes Wharf between 1.30pm and 4.30pm on Saturday 18th February (after you have registered).  The transition area will have 24 hour security and the bikes will be locked inside the no.1 shed (age group transition) overnight.

NB: Elite, U23 & ITU Junior athletes are NOT required to check their bikes in on the Saturday. Your bike check-in will be on race day prior to your event.

RACE BRIEF

Race brief will take place at The Hotel Grand Chancellor in the Federation Ballroom on Saturday 18th February. 

Age Group & Teams @ 5pm

Elites, U23 & ITU Junior @ 6pm

(GST exclusive)

You will be required to produce an ABN or sign a declaration statement to receive any prize money.

So please help us by having your ABN handy at the presentation ceremony. Otherwise we will not be able to issue prize money on the day.
