Kathrin Muller confirmed her dominance as a cross triathlete as she stormed to victory at the ETU TNatura Cross Triathlon European Cup in Schluchsee, Germany.
The German athlete, and two time European Cross Triathlon Champion, delighted the home crowd as she held off the challenge of Maud Golsteyn (NED) on the bike before cruising home on the final run.
Golsteyn once again had to settle for second place, having finished behind Renata Bucher (SUI) at the previous European Cross Triathlon Cup in Predni Vyton last month.
Elisabetti Curridori (ITA) completed the podium in the Elite Women’s race.
There was a similar tale of dominance in the Elite men’s race, as reigning European Cross Triathlon Champion Kris Coddens (BEL) claimed the gold medal.
In a tight race, the Belgian was pushed all the way by Jan Kubicek (CZE) and friend Jim Thijs (BEL) before securing victory in the closing stages.
Both Kubicek and Thijs can be satisfied with their work as both have now secured two podium finishes in three races in this ETU TNatura European Cross triathlon series.
The final race of the series takes place in Pokljuka, Slovenia on 21st September 2014. For more information on the European Series along with the latest Cross Triathlon rankings, visit http://www.tnaturaevents.com
