Sarita Zafra (L2), Philippines
Koji Koganezawa of Japan is the Project Facilitator.
During the pandemic, majority of the Development and Education programmes have been hosted in a virtual format, so participants are valuing the opportunity to meet together onsite, for this experience in Miyazaki, Japan.
The schedules have included introductions and a presentation by all participants. A series of meetings onsite at the World Cup venue, including observing all relevant Technical Official meetings. The participants will also observe the Elite races on Saturday 29th October with the women racing at 9am local time and the men will follow at 11.30am, over a sprint-distance course. The participants also attended the peripheral events on the World Cup schedule which included the kids and juniors races on Saturday afternoon and the Age-group race on Sunday.
On Sunday the group met to discuss the overall programme experience, reflect on key learnings, best practices and to discuss their reporting topics for the project.
“Precise. Punctual. Professional. Perfect! These words summarize the superb experience we had in observing, immersing ourselves with the loc and technical officials from the preparation to the execution of the 2022 World Triathlon Cup Miyazaki,” said Sarita Zafra, Philippines.
“My experience is summarised by talking about the exchange of experiences, opinions and ideas. My colleagues and I have achieved the goal we came for, which is to gain experience and develop skills. Me and Mrs. Sarita from Philippines and Mr. gho from Malaysia were with the most enthusiasm and constant focus on the smallest details. Mr. Koji was ready to discuss all questions and bring up many topics to increase the experience gained. One of the best experiences that everyone should try and engage in other societies,” said Ammar Ali, Jordan.
The objective of the project is for the participants to gain practical knowledge and experience while onsite for a World Triathlon Cup.
