The Chilean Olympic Committee gathered triathlon coaches from Chile and other South American countries during the last week of March to take part in the long waited ITU/PATCO Level I coaches course, welcomed by the Chilean Triathlon Federation (FeChiTri).
The four-day theoretical/practical Level I Coaches Course is part of the sport development programme for the Americas. It was focused on increasing the participants’ general triathlon knowledge through active participation and feedback during classroom sessions, as well as amplifying their responsiveness in practical sessions.
The course was presented by ITU facilitators Roberto Solano (CRC) and Rodrigo Milazzo (BRA) who were very pleased with the final outcome.
“The group was very passionate and enthusiastic about triathlon, and the course was a wonderful experience for them,” revealed Solano, who is also the coach for rising start Leonardo Chacon.
“I am very excited about the outcome of this course, as we certainly have achieved our goal through providing the participants with the necessary resources that will enable a higher development of the sport in the region,” commented Milazzo.
Wladimir Gajardo, president of the FeChiTri, was very pleased with the attendance and the facilitators “we are very pleased with ITU and PATCO for their effort on working towards the development of triathlon in our region. This course will be a milestone for Chile’s triathlon, as our future triathlon athletes will all benefit from the information shared throughout the week by our coaches.”
The Level I Coaches Course is part of ITU Sport Development programme and will keep on running throughout this year through other projects in the Americas.
