Last week the third ITU Facilitators course was held in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, just prior to this year’s Pan American Championships. ITU and PATCO, along with the Mexican Triathlon Federation, organized the 3-day course which is a certification to train ITU Facilitators to teach ITU Coaching and Technical official courses.
In all, 12 PATCO Technical Officials and Coaches that were selected by their Federation met the ITU qualifying criteria attending the course. The candidates represented seven countries, including Brasil, Costa Rica, Argentina, México, Chile, USA, and Jamaica.
Alan Ley, ITU Sport Development Manager, and Thanos Nikopoulos, ITU Technical Operation Manager, led the course while Gustavo Svane, PATCO Sport Development Coordinator, and Rodrigo Milazzo, part of CBTri – PATCO Sport Development, assisted with the coordination.
The Puerto Vallarta course is taking place at the Crown Paradise Club hotel close to the middle of town and where the Pan American Championships were staged.
ITU is strongly committed to training and providing officials and coaching training worldwide.
