Course details revealed for 2023 World Triathlon Championships Finals Pontevedra

With only three months to go until Spain plays host to the prestigious 2023 World Triathlon Championship Finals in Pontevedra, from 20th to the 24th September, World Triathlon and the local organisers are excited to reveal course details for the Elite and U23, Age-Group Standard, Age-Group Super Sprint, Aquabike, Para Triathlon and Para Triathlon Mixed Relay events.

The course routes can be accessed online to assist athletes prepare for the pinnacle event on the World Triathlon calendar.

Elite/U23
Swim/Bike/Run
1.5km swim (2 laps) / 40km bike (8-laps) / 10km run (4-laps)

The elite men’s race will be on Saturday, 23rd September from 17:20hrs and the women’s race will be staged on Sunday, 24th September from 16:45hrs.
The U23 men’s race will be hosted on Saturday, 23rd September at 14:20hrs and Sunday, 24th September at 14:00hr for the U23 women. in the women’s category.

Standard Triathlon Age-Group
1.5km swim (1 laps) / 40km bike (2-laps) / 10km run (4-laps)

The Standard Age-Group race will be held on Sunday, 24th September with both men and women starting from 08:30hrs. 

Aquabike Standard Age Group
1.5km swim (1 lap) / 40km bike (2-laps)

The Standard Aquabike race will be held on Sunday, 24th September starting from 10:40hrs.

Super Sprint Triathlon Age-Group
300m swim (1 laps) / 6.4km bike (1-laps) / 1.6km run (1-laps)

The Super Sprint Triathlon Age-Group race will take place on Friday, 22nd September starting from 16hrs.

Sprint Para Triathlon
750m swim (1 lap) / 20km bike (4-laps) / 15km run (3-laps)

Mixed Relay Para Triathlon Open Race
125 swim (1 lap) / 3.5km bike (1-laps) / 800m run (1-lap)

The Mixed Para Triathlon Open Relay will be hosted from 19:15hrs on Sunday, 24th September.
