We are now less than thirty- four days to the start penultimate round of the ITU Triathlon World Cup Series in Guatape, Colombia. The event is supported by Gobernación de Antioquia- Indeportes Antioquia and will be held on November 5-6 in the small town of Guatapé. The number of countries that will come to Colombia to participate in this event is increasing. Until now there are at least sixty nations. It was very important to emphasize the work that several executive members of the World Cup in Colombia have done. They traveled to Gijón, Spain, to observe the best in the Duathlon World Championships. All of them attended meetings and they showed several videos and gave out a lot of information about our country.
Colombia has been supported by athletes, managers and Directors that have come to our country to compete in other international events as the Iberoamerican Champion in Cartagena and just two months ago the Central American and Caribbean Championship at Guatapé.
The executives that traveled to Europe were: Doctor José Luis Echeverry, President of the National triathlon Union, Doctor Claudia Sabogal, Executive Director of the same union. Doctor William Moncada, General manager of the international events in Antioquia, and representing the local government named Gobernación de Antioquia, as main supporter, and Eduardo Cano, Chief of press , also representing Indeportes Antioquia, official sponsor of the World Cup too.
Our fellows were well attended not only by sport personalities but by political estate too. They were invited and well welcomed to the house of Government in Gijón, they talked to the mayor of the city, Ladyship, Paz Fernández Felgueroso.
The official presentation of the ITU Triathlon World Cup in Guatapé will be 9:30am on October 13 in one of the most fashionable hotels of Medellín, the main City of The Antioquia´s local Government. In the meeting, the journalists will get the information about the distances, the route, categories and everything that they want to know about this great international event.
