The British Triathlon Federation is pleased to announce it will host a paratriathlon participation and talent identification day on Friday 28 September.
The focus of this day will be to introduce new and novice paratriathletes to the structure of paratriathlon within the UK. The athletes will be introduced to the opportunities within paratriathlon on how to progress from participation through events toward high performance.
There will be a large practical element to the day with athletes having the chance to enhance their skills and work with coaches on swimming, handbiking, running and wheelchair pushing techniques. Participants will be given the opportunity to undertake a swim and run/wheelchair assessment that will compare their performance to current GB and World best times. There may be the opportunity to record some of these sessions and to provide individual and group feedback.
The day will be facilitated by Scott Murray, a Level 3 triathlon coach and the London Paratriathlon ID coach. The British Triathlon Federation hopes to have a number of coaches to work with the athletes that attend, as well as members of the GB Paratriathlon Squad to discuss their experiences racing at national and international events.
The event will be held at the Hillingdon Sport and Leisure Complex in London on Friday 28th September from 10am-2pm. For further details contact Scott Murray at {encode=“triathlon.coach@btinternet.com” title=“triathlon.coach@btinternet.com”} or (+44) 7870596873.
