Arturo Garza (MEX) Central America Champion

With more than 60 athletes from Bermuda, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Spain, United States, Guatemala, Ireland, Mexico, New Zealand, Netherlands, Panama, Peru, Poland, Puerto Rico, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic and Venezuela, took place the 2007 Central America and Caribbean Triathlon Championships in which Arturo Garza (MEX) and Joanna Zeiger (USA) were the best.

Santo Domingo de Guzman, the oldest city of the New World declared World Heritage Site by the UNESCO and Capital City of Dominican Republic; host an important competition that awarded points for the Pan American Ranking.

The swimming was in the Sans Souci Beach in two laps of 750 meters and after that a flat course in the Spain Avenue for the bike and the running leg was the venue in which Arturo Garza (MEX-01:52:13) took the definitive advantage over Camilo Gonzalez (VEN-01:52:25) in the last running lap. The third place was for Petr Bures (CZE-01:53:22).

In the ladies race Joanna Zeiger (USA-02:01:44) won over Christine Jeffrey (CAN-02:02:07) and Flora Duffy (BER-02:03:25). Fabiola Corona (MEX-02:07:35) and Marisa Garduño (MEX-02:08:08) arrived in the 5th and 6th place.
