Australian paratriathlete Sara-Ashlee was born with a condition called Spina Bifida. With a competitive spirit, she has gone on to compete in paratriathlon events over the years. She has previously competed in other sports such as Wheelchair Racing and Wheelchair Basketball before switching to Paratriathlon in late 2014.
Sara competed at a number of local events, securing selection for the World Paratriathlon Championships in Chicago, where she won Gold in the Open class for the PT1 category. She subsequently went to Adelaide for the World Paraduathlon Championships not long after, where she won Gold. Her next major goal is the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games.
Recent Highlights
- 2nd place at the 2017 Devonport OTU Triathlon Oceania Championships;
- 3rd place at the 2017 Gold Coast ITU World Paratriathlon Series;
- 5th place at the 2017 Yokohama ITU World Paratriathlon Series; and
- 2nd place at the 2016 Penrith ITU World Paratriathlon Event.
