Héctor started his ITU racing career in 2014, where he had plenty of success due to his strength and determination. Currently ranked world number two, Héctor has worked hard over the years to move up through the ranks, with 2017 seeing him win two gold and two silver medals.

- 4th place at the 2017 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final Rotterdam;
- Winner of the 2017 Altafulla ITU Paratriathlon World Cup;
- 2nd place at the 2017 Kitzbühel ETU Triathlon European Championships;
- 2nd place at the 2017 Yokohama ITU World Paratriathlon Series; and
- Winner of the 2017 Soria ETU Duathlon European Championships.
