Jairo started his sporting career out as a swimmer, where he won a number of Spanish titles, even breaking Spanish records, until 2011 when he decided to try triathlon. Since then, he has become a well known paratriathlete in Spain. 2017 has been a memorable year, taking two gold medals, one at the 2017 Altafulla ITU Paratriathlon World Cup and then at the Iseo - Franciacorta ITU Paratriathlon World Cup.
Recent Highlights
- 2nd place at the 2017 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final Rotterdam;
- Winner of the 2017 Iseo - Franciacorta ITU Paratriathlon World Cup;
- Winner of the 2017 Altafulla ITU Paratriathlon World Cup; and
- 2nd place at the 2017 Kitzbühel ETU Triathlon European Championships.
