Encouraged by her father since she was a child, he would take her and brother jogging. Her sports career started at the Sport Frances Stadium and her first competition was when she was eight years old. At the age of nine, she joined the Catholic University’s Sports Group.
Barbara has gone on to have a great career in triathlon and currently, Barbara divides her time between sports and studying Nutrition.
In 2016 Barbara has a successful season with a number for strong placements, including 5th place at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.

- 6th place at the 2016 ITU World Triathlon Hamburg;
- 38th place at the 2016 ITU World Triathlon Yokohama; and
- Winner at the 2015 Toronto Pan American Games.
