Marc’s first passion was running and took up swimming to boost his fitness. From there he entered the Stirling Aquathlon at the age of 11, finishing in second position he then turned his attention to triathlon. He trains at the University of Stirling Triathlon High Performance Centre, currently self-coached, and has won ITU World Championship silver medals at both Junior and U23 level.
Marc represented Scotland at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, where he was part of a three-man breakaway with the Brownlee brothers where he rode exceptionally well in front of the home crowd in Strathclyde Park. He regularly competes for Great Britain at the ITU World Cup and World Triathlon Series events and is part of the UK Sport Lottery Funded World Class Performance triathlon squad.

- 13th place at the 2017 ITU World Triathlon Leeds;
- 14th place at the 2017 ITU World Triathlon Abu Dhabi;
- 22nd place at the 2017 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final Rotterdam; and
- 46th place at the 2017 ITU World Triathlon Hamburg.
