Biography

Born in Madrid in 1956, Casado started her sport career in running and field hockey while furthering her education. She competed in the first triathlon in Spain and won the race. Casado has a degree in Philosophy and Hispanic Language and a MBA in Sport Management. She lives in Madrid with her husband Joaquín and daughter Berta.

World Triathlon: President (2008 to present). Treasurer (2004 – 2008), member of the Executive Board (1998 - 2004), founding member (1989) and deeply involved during the early years.

International Olympic Committee: IOC Member 2010 to present IOC. Commissions: Coordination for the II Summer Youth Olympic Games Nanjing 2014 (2010-2014), International Relations (2012-2015), Women and Sport (2014 to present), Radio and Television (2014-2015), Public Affairs and Social Development through Sport (2015-to present), Evaluation for the Games of XXXIII Olympiad in 2024 (2016-2017), Olympic Solidarity (2017 to present) and Coordination of the Games of XXXIII Olympiad in Paris 2024 (2017 to present).

ASOIF: Council Member (2011-2014, 2016 to present) and Treasurer (2016 to present).

Spanish Triathlon Federation: Secretary General (1989–1994 and 1997–2008), Founding member.

European Triathlon Association: President (2002 - 2009).

Iberoamerican Triathlon Association: Founding member. Mediterranean Triathlon Federation: Founding member.

SportAccord: Council member (2013 to present), SportAccord Treasurer (2016 to present).

Spanish Olympic Committee: Member of the Spanish National Olympic Committee (NOC) (1992-1994, 2000 to present) President of the Women and Sport Commission (1992-1994, 2004-2009). Recipient: “Real Orden del Mérito Deportivo” for her service to sport and with the Olympic Order of Spanish NOC.
